Access My Personal Web Space by Adding
a Web Folder
Windows XP
(This must be done for any machine you choose
to edit or create a webpage – but only once per machine).
1.
Double
Click My Network Places from the desktop

2.
Double
Click Add

3.
The
Add Network Place Wizard opens. Click Next.

4.
Select
(single click) Choose Another Network Location. Click Next.

5.
Type
the address of your network place – http://user.fsd1.org/your_user_name
.
(Ex: http://user.fsd1.org/egambrell).
Click Next.

6.
When
prompted, type your FSD1 logon name and password. Click OK. (Do not
put a check in the box for Remember my
password.)

7.
When
prompted “What do you want to name this place?” leave the name as is. Click
Next.
8.
Remove
the check from “Open this network place when I finish” by clicking on the check
mark.

9.
Click
Finish.
You should see an icon for your web folder with your user
name (Ex: egambrell on user.fsd1.org).

Copy
this icon into your My Documents folder – it will be accessible from any
computer in the district.
Windows Vista
1. Right-click
“Computer” in either the Start Menu or on the desktop and choose Map Network
Drive.
2. Click the “Connect
to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures” hyperlink
and then enter the http://webfolders.fsd1.org/<WEBFOLDERNAME>/ url.
